COVID-19 Message Updated: 22nd March
Mail Order Customers:
  *
Our carrier DHL is operating near normally across the world with its Air Express service. Allow an extra day for delivery (4 days for Australia and New Zealand), just in case.
  * For the UK only, Royal Mail are delivering the vast majority of orders on time according to our data, but is experiencing higher levels of staff absences, so there may some local delays.
  * We will be working normally and have a large warehouse full of parts that will help keep your car on the road. However, we are seeing some supply delays from factory lockdowns around the world.
Workshop Customers:
  *
Following government guidance, we are open as usual. Taking your vehicle to a garage for repairs is a permitted activity (safety) as long as you observe the social distancing rules. We have strict social distancing processes internally and disinfect daily (not least because we have staff in vulnerable groups). In the circumstances, we have had to close our waiting room. Our mechanics wear gloves at all times and we will disinfect your vehicle with our Zaflora sprays on handing back to you. We would respectfully ask you to show our staff the same courtesy. We also have full amount contactless payment systems.
  * MOTs due for renewal from 30th March to 31st July 2020 were extended for six months. There have been no MOT extensions since then. After the first lock-down, the massive pent-up demand for MOTs overwhelmed supply so even if you don't need to use your car in this current lock-down, it is still strongly recommended to get one done should your vehicle be needed at short notice.

The Workshop prides itself on the quality of its service and workmanship. In order to give the level of service and reliability you require at the right price, we endeavour to get genuine parts at a discount by buying in bulk from either Alfa Romeo UK or direct from the manufacturer's factory. For example, all our oil filters are genuine parts in genuine boxes and they are approximately 20% cheaper than from an Alfa Romeo dealer.

Unfortunately on some items the genuine parts, even with our buying power, still prove to be overpriced and then we have to approach the manufacturer of the product and get the same product directly from them. An example of this would be the twin spark plug, PMR7A's which are manufactured by NGK; we could, if Alfa Romeo UK's price was excessive, buy plugs direct from NGK, this is then referred to as "original equipment". Some other original equipment suppliers are:

BoschFuel injection systems and ABS
KoniShock absorbers
Securesiv, SplintexGlass
Mannisman Instruments
ValeoClutches, Radiators
AlliedAirbags
DelphiClimate control
TRWSteering and suspension

Occasionally, either because Alfa Romeo and their suppliers have stopped producing a part, or we feel there is no difference in quality between the genuine and the pattern item, and the pattern part is considerably cheaper, we will choose to use a pattern part. These could either be an exact copy of the original product or a direct replacement, for example Powerflex bushes for the rear of a 916 series GTV or Spider is a pattern part. In all cases when you contact us we will try to both meet your needs, and advise you where we think there is an advantage in using either genuine, original equipment or pattern parts. For example, if your car is in warranty, we would without exception use genuine parts as then there can then be no way that the manufacturer can claim that a defective product was the cause of a warranty claim, however if you own a series 3 Giulia spider the only way you will get the front lip spoiler is as a pattern part, as these long since finished production with Alfa Romeo.

If you specifically require any part either Genuine, Original equipment or pattern we will be pleased to try and help you get the correct product at the best possible price and our warranty is identical to Alfa Romeo's in all cases.
