An opportunity to own a very rare (if not unique) big Alfa cruiser. This car was converted to run on LPG in around 1972 by the original selling dealer, using an officially approved LPG system. The car is powered by the sweetest of the twin cam alloy engines the 1750. Twin Webers and Marelliplex electronic ignition ensure that this car starts first time every time. Even after the car has been standing for several weeks. In regular use over the last year, the car drives beautifully. Based on Alfa's hugely successful 105 series chassis it truly has the heart of a sports car. An AROC concourse winning car (1st in class 2006), a minimum of effort would see it winning more prizes. Overall this car is incredibly original.
An adapter allows for the filling the LPG tank (requires an adapter but one will be supplied) the car runs very happily on LPG with no noticeable loss of power.
Recent Works
The brakes were overhauled September last year; both front callipers and the master cylinder were replaced.All the track rod ends were replaced at that time as well as various bushes. A new exhausted was fitted in 2006
Issues
This car is nearly 40 years old so you would expect some issues. The driver's seat has two splits in the vinyl (see picture) one split is along the edge nearest the door, the other runs along the middle stiched seam of the squab. The clock doesn't work and neither does the cigarette lighter. The electric arial sometimes sticks in a partially up position.
The car has some rust unfortunately There is some bubbling on the rear left hand door. (See picture).
The paintwork is beginning to look tired in places. It has at some point been badly "over polished" along the roof line and has several deep scratches.
